002 Video/Action at Goldenrod City

[Recently, it may have come to Barby's attention that her first introduction was...not so much an introduction, as it was whining about her awful Grimer being a royal pain in her behind. She'd been far too busy with her own affairs, however, to actually stop and realize that perhaps she made a mistake.

A rare occurrence, to be sure, but then again the only person who never fails is the one who never does anything.

So once she realized her mistake, she turned on the feed in order to do her introduction proper.]

Ah, hello there, everyone! I do believe that, despite how long I've actually been, I never made a proper introduction, due to dealing with a rather...unruly pile of goo.

[The camera turns to look at her Grimer, which was currently...hugging the stuffing out of a Clefairy doll. Wow.]

As you can see, he's much tamer now, thanks to Honey. You have my thanks yet again, darling; your plan worked like a charm!

...but anyway, I'm getting off track. My name's Barby and it's simply marvelous to meet you all. [Cue a big smile sweet enough to rot your teeth from the inside out.]

Now that my proper introduction is out of the way, I was hoping to ask a question or two. I heard that just North of the Goldenrod City is a National Park, which holds some kind of contest. Could anyone tell me more about it? And, if I do find it interesting, would anyone like to accompany me there? I do dislike traveling alone.

[And with that, she turns off the feed.

Afterwards, Barby can be found walking around the city with a rather large amount of bags on each arm, while her Vespiquen carries a few, and her Swablu carries...one. A very, very light one. That alone might not be very interesting, but the fact that she's carrying two eggs which are making things very difficult to see (in addition to all those bags) certainly seems like a recipe for disaster.]

Nice to meet you, Barby. I'm Atsuro!

[Now the intro's out of the way, this young man will just answer her question.]

About the contest, it's a bug catching contest to get the best bug type. You get scored based on their rarity and how strong they are. You get to keep whichever you catch, but the top three usually get one extra prize to go along with their win.

Sure, I don't mind at all. Ask away and I'll do my best to answer them.

Yep! At least the Pokemon you caught and get judged with. As for the prize, you get money and one item. [Let's see if he can remember it.] A berry for third place, and I know first and second get a stone.

Not just any rock, but an evolution stone!

[Which is clearly special.]

With it, you can evolve certain type of Pokemon to their next form.

Yeah, you can if you find a Beedrill. Otherwise, you'd have to evolve one from a Weedle or Kakuna, or trade for one from someone else.

[He don't know anyone with a Beedrill, but surely there's someone who do. On the other hand, it won't beat the satisfaction of capturing a Pokemon for themselves.]

Of course. You really can't beat that satisfied feeling you get from catching your own Pokemon. You feel rewarded for your efforts, you know?

Then let's hope your future new Pokemon's personality is easy enough to work with. I've seen people working with Pokemon with difficult personalities before. Of course, that could be another challenge to overcome.

[Ahahah...]

Oh man, I feel for you. I got a few on my end, so I hope your next Pokemon's not like that. Like...hijacking your 'Gear bad.
